The Infinite Divine

Our view of heaven

Despite being tarped

Can still be managed

Though desperately warped

But one must first ask

With what DO we see?

Do we see with these eyes

Or do we see spiritually?

Is there one set of eyes

Or is there set two?

I know in my head

But can’t heart see, too?

But how can the heart

With vision attain

A view of heaven

Unblemished, unstained?

With sight full of lust

And every wrought sin

How can mere humans

Begin to imagine

A place so holy

And high and righteous

That flesh falls short

And must still and hush?

If heaven is source

We must begin there

But how do we begin

With invisible air?

We must find someone

Who’s been there and back

And cling to that one

Who knows what we lack

For it is his coming

And leaving a wake

That we catch a glimpse

And come awake

Forgiveness he spoke

With a living hope

Ignited new birth and

Internal flames stoked

Dry bones knit with flesh

New ears and new eyes

Open with wonder

To look past the skies

To a higher place

A cathedral rare

Built on pillars of faith

And gemstones fair.

And strengthened by

His body and blood

Paradise comes

Through sacrificial love!

We praise, “We see!”

And with illuminate mind

We seek to convey

To others, blind

This Manna of Gold

This Aged Fine Wine

This foretaste of

The Infinite Divine.

Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and
he could see again.  Acts 9:18

God Thirsts Well

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

I thirst.

Jesus was tired

When he had to retire

To Samaria’s well

And there did dwell

Hot with dry thirst

And hunger cursed

Till a woman approached

And Jesus broached

The subject pressing

Her soul addressing

Her deepest need

He drew with speed

The salvation cup

And let her sup

And tho he’d bothered

For drink of water

It was HER thirst

He’d thirsted for first.

Amy (C)

Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

Oh Living Water,  Quench our thirst, for that is what water was made for, Amen.

Know The Difference

Teach me to number my days that I may gain a heart of wisdom.

I just woke up from a dream.  It was quite unpleasant, but not (vain) meaningless, or without revelation.

All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

I dreamed that I was sitting in a chair being injected with a jar of euthanasia drug while two friends (one dead, one alive) stood by.  My breathing was becoming labored. everyone life, breath

I remember thinking that I only had a few minutes to live and wanted to ask exactly how long, but found that the thought scared me.   I didn’t want to know how long I had.  I thought it best not to know.

There is an appointed time for everything, and there is a time for every event under heaven.  A time to give birth, and a time to die.

My dream switched and I was now standing weakly looking out the window with one friend beside me.   I could feel the cold coils of death trying to grasp the edges of my mind.

The ropes of the grave had surrounded me. The clutches of death had confronted me.

The only thing I was thinking about was my son and what he would do after I died.  My heart went out to him, and I spent the rest of my (dying breaths) dream crying out in prayer for him.  Interceding for him.  Wailing and sorrowing on his behalf.  Pouring out my heart for him despite my labored breathing.

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

And then I woke up.

I was still very much alive.  Praise God!

And then something came to my mind…Yesterday I was scanning Facebook and came across a photo of an Australian spider that had killed a gecko with this headline, “Nature at its best red back spider eating lunch.”

I asked a simple question, “Are these spiders poisonous to humans?”  I received two important responses:  “They can make you sick “, and another response that made me really think…”You need to know the difference between poisonous and venomous. Poison is something that you ingest/swallow through the mouth. Venomous is injected from a bite or sting.”

So I did what I always do and went to the scriptures to verify.  This is what I found, and what I found was interesting.

He will suck the poison of serpents; the fangs of an adder will kill him.

They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.

Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they
are like the deaf adder that stops its ear.

I found it interesting that it was translated “poison”, and not venom.  So I did an interBible search for venom and found this:

Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras.

God uses both words.

And then because of all this teaching on venom and poison I remembered this account…

So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live.” And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.…

And these cross references…

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel

And finally this…

Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.

Remember what I said earlier?  “The only thing I was thinking about was my son and what he would do after I died.  My heart went out to him, and I spent the rest of my dying breaths… crying out in prayer for him.  Interceding for him.  Wailing and sorrowing on his behalf.  Pouring out my heart for him despite my labored breathing.”

Don’t you think that that is what Jesus did for you with his dying breaths?

Jesus, I am so very thankful that on the third day you rose…for me!  Hallelujah

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’…

Invisible Indivisible Independence Day?

From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall…Acts 17:26
This is the pledge of allegiance in its fullness, wisdom, simplicity, and beauty:
We stood for the pledge in church yesterday morning.  The pledge was printed out for us in the bulletin but there was one crucial word missing.  This is what it read and this is what everyone pledged:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stand, one nation, under God… with liberty and justice for all.
I struggled with accepting the pledge as it had been recited, and couldn’t help but ponder if this might be a prophetic silence.
Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.  ~Jesus
We know that the U.S.A. is divided.  The last few elections have pointed out just HOW divided we are. All you have to do is #resist to see the divide.
There truly is a war going on between good and evil and it is being played out in the government right before our eyes.   We also know God’s word about every nation:
Nations are in turmoil, and kingdoms topple. The earth melts at the sound of [God’s] voice.  Psalm 46:6
Now notice the above verse crouched between two very important and very encouraging scriptures from another translation:
God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted.  The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Selah.…Psalm 46:5-7
We also recited the Christian pledge:
There also was a difference in the bulletin regarding this pledge vs the one we recited:
I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior, Jesus Christ, for whose Kingdom it stands.  One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty for all who believe.
Now this is a “mistake” I can accept!

This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me… In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you…~Jesus

Father God,  Protect and preserve this great country.  Cause circumstances to happen that would draw others back to the common sense and wisdom of the scriptures.  Jesus, help us to resist the devil that he may flee knowing that you came down “to” us, “for” us.  We pray this in Your Son’s name, Amen.

Plunder of War

When he ascended on high, he took the captives captive…Ephesians 4:8

When I have been lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people toward me.   ~Jesus

Captive I was from the start,

     and hate filled my heart,

till love called me apart

with words whispered in soft woo.

     My heart was pursued

by a great warrior, true.

This grand soldier of all time

     crept into my mind,

and so became tight entwined.

As a grapevine* bearing fruit,

     my soul he did root,

without a fight or dispute.

For his love and life blood longed,

     this one to belong.

His train carried me along,

away from my enemies,

     like a refugee.

His victory set me free!

No more chained in Satan’s lies!

     No more under guise.

Free from the accuser’s eyes!

Free from the accuser’s jail!

Holiest of Grails,

I am hidden in His veil.

Amy (C)

What grapevine?

They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us while he was speaking with us on the road, while he was explaining the scriptures to us?  Luke 24:32

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  Psalm 63:3

Oh Jesus, this love that burns within my heart!  We love only because you first loved us!  And oh, what a love!  May all who read, hear and feel that spark ignite inside their soul.  May they come alive to the fact that you are real, alive, and working to draw them to higher things…to freedom.  For if the Son sets you free you are free indeed!  In your majestic name I pray, Amen.

It Only Takes One Word

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.  Hebrews 1:3

Do not fear; have I not commanded you? Be courageous ..2 Samuel 13:28

The devil’s ways are boisterous boasts,

With mock and scorn and loud proud posts,

Heckles and jeers and constant streaming,

Profane, perverse, and pale screaming.

Currents of lies flowing around earth,

Propagating with darkest birth,

Like rife Jezebels within bedrooms,

Fruitless deeds within empty wombs.

Soulless coal eyes and wagging forked tongues,

Salivate as the dirge is sung,

Hungry for souls to consume and steal.

Satan is master of the deals

That bring death and fi’ry destruction

Through mouth-blaspheming instruction.

Binding wills to his powerful choice.

But freedom comes with still small voice!

If one is drawn to harken and hear

A sweet sound to undeafened ears.

A sound of good news in pleasing note

That stills the devil’s boasts and gloats

And stomps the neck of cacophony

Crushing the voice of the enemy.

Amy (C)

What is that Word? Click Here

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity,
but of power, love, and self-discipline.

Jesus,  It is written in Philippians 2:10-11:

…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Your name is so powerful.  One name.  One word.  It is enough.  Amen.
