God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
TRUTH: For God has bound everyone over to disobedience
TRUTH: God sends a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie
TRUTH: But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
The second lesser yet connected
lie is: If we believe in God we will go to heaven when we die.
TRUTH: God (has already in baptism!) raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
…you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ
Where in the above sentence is there any “free will”?
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of
(will)works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.
I contend that
…faith comes from hearing the message, and the
message is heard through the word of Christ.
The Spirit gives life; the
(will)flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life.
anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Lies come from
(The Father of Lies aka Satan aka devil aka Lucifer aka that old serpent) the vine of the earth…
So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God.
Truth comes from
(Jesus) what is true…
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vineyard keeper.
After reading God’s Word can you continue to believe that free will can do anything?
The will is a beast of burden. If God mounts it, it wishes and goes as God wills; if Satan mounts it, it wishes and goes as Satan wills; Nor can it choose its rider… the riders contend for its possession. Martin Luther
If we believe we have free will to choose God then I contend that the cross is emptied of its power and Jesus is a liar, for it was He who said…
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.
God’s Word is powerful! God’s Word is Truth. Truth is powerful against lies.
The tongue has the power of life and death
Both are conveyed by words breathed out in breathe of currents.
use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to
demolish and destroyknock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments..
…the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account
So stop believing the lie and ask yourself these questions: If you believe in the false doctrine of free will then how can you have any joy of salvation? If it is you who chooses Jesus then how can He be your Savior? Won’t you be your own savior? Is free will a human work? If we make a promise is it our word that “binds” us? Why do we believe what we believe? Do we believe what we believe because of words spoken to us?
When I suggest this to
Christians people the first rebuttal most come up with is, “But God didn’t make us robots.” I never said He did. His word speaks for itself. We’re not even robots. We are dead in our sin and trespasses….DEAD! Unless His Word brings us back alive again!
Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that proceeds from the Father’s mouth.
Does that sound like free will?
Jesus, YOU make all things new. We are captive to Satan’s will until You release our feet from the snare and make us Your treasured possession, servants of Your will. I thank you and glorify You dear Jesus for being my Savior and the Author of my life. You bound Yourself to us by Your promise of eternal life because of Your life, death, and resurrection. Your blood sets us free! Zechariah said it well when he prophesied, “As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.” Your Children know that it is You producing in them both the desire and the ability to do what pleases You and not some false doctrine of free will. We have comfort in our baptism that, having been sealed with the Holy Spirit, we already posses heaven, not by some decision or choice we make, but by Your word, O Lord!
May all who read this have courage to receive true faith founded upon Your word and not upon human reasoning. In Jesus name, Amen
