The Paw of The Lion

Early in my Christian walk I learned that when God said,

“Do not fear!”

He meant it as a command of love!

The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”  1 Samuel 17:37

paw of lion

Ever wonder why you go through so many trials and sufferings?   The Lord revealed one reason to me at 2 a.m. this morning.  He is preparing us for greater things…

…like entrance into heaven.

…”Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.  Luke 12:32

When God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt He set His tabernacle in their midst, and He set up the twelve tribes in the shape of a cross in camps to the East, North, West, and South of the tabernacle.  I learned in Bible study this week that Jesus was training them to go from the mindset of a slave to the mindset of a soldier.  Slaves live lounging under the false deception of a strange satisfied fear.  Soldiers live in the Truth of an advancing controlled whirlwind of courage.

The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet. Nahum 1:3

There is one thing necessary for courage.  For courage to exist, there must be fear.  But God is GOD!  And only He can take that which the enemy uses for our destruction (fear) and turn it into a powerful force for good.

You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land. Ezekiel 38:9

When you are faced with fear, do not stop!  Advance! And wielding the Sword of the Spirit in praise and power in Jesus’ name, push through that fear and, with the Great Warrior in and around you, you will make powerful advancements against Satan.

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Samuel 17:45

Do you tremble with fear?  Fear has to do with punishment.  Those who fear have not been made perfect in love.  But, yet, even now, Perfect Love casts out all fear!

David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran. 1 Samuel 17:21

As I meditated on this I found myself feeling victorious in the knowledge that David cut of Goliath’s head.  What finality!  What grace that God would reveal to us the final outcome.  The devil loses.  Jesus wins!  And He wins, not only victoriously, but with finality!

…fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

If you live in fear, read, read, read ,The Holy Bible…God’s word!  Pray that God would plant it deep inside you.

I have hidden your word in my heart … Psalm 119:11

Push through that fear for victory is waiting on the other side.!

Then Jesus said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23

Father, If anyone suffers from fear, anxiety, or panic attacks, may you draw them powerfully to your word so that it goes down deep in to their heart and soul.  It doesn’t hurt to cut back on  stimulants like caffeine either,  especially for certain people with sensitive nervous systems.  The enemy uses many of the worlds pleasures as footholds; that is one of the reasons the  world champions drinking caffeine-laden coffee and energy drinks  The enemy isn’t stupid.  God make us wise unto salvation, and give us courage in the midst of our fears.  In Jesus’ name, Amen

About lifevine

Hi! My name is Amy. I am a former atheist and, for a season, practiced witchcraft. God drew me out of darkness 17 years ago and gave me the spiritual gifts of knowing and faith. He gives me daily encouragement and affirmation and I hope to share Him with you. If you have not yet met the one true God, His name is Jesus Christ, and may I be the first to introduce you to Him? He is the Restorative Savior God promised Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago (Genesis 3:15) after they had sinned in the garden, bringing separation from God because of disobedience. It is rightly reported that a little over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem He was born of a virgin, lived a blameless perfect life in and around Jerusalem, died on a cross on Golgotha for the world's sin, and 3 days later rose again. YES! ROSE AGAIN! AMAZING! Please get baptized in His name, and walk in an eternal restored fellowship with Christ. You can get to know Him by reading, marking, and inwardly digesting His Word.... His Holy Bible.
