Cross Boundaries

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places. Psalm 16:6

As I get older I realize just how important it is to establish boundaries.

“Get away from them (unbelievers) and separate yourselves from them,” declares the Lord…  2 Corinthians 6:17

Boundaries with family, friends, and strangers.  God made each of us a certain way and in this fallen evil world boundaries are a must.  For those of us with sensitive dispositions, boundaries are essential, not just for everyday life, but for mental health as well.

No one ever told me that growing up.  I lacked wisdom and guidance, trusted everyone to be good, and put up with a lot of crap.  Of course people ran roughshod over me all the time, and I over them.

The proud and arrogant person—“Mocker” is his name— behaves with insolent fury. Proverbs 21:24

I am learning.

Thank God I am learning.

You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.  Proverbs 6:7

I now am better at recognizing when I’m trying to be cheated, manipulated, steamrolled, disrespected, shamed, blamed for something not my fault, lied to, abused, or, my favorite, when Satan is using someone to attack me.  I also am learning to recognize all of these horrible sins in myself.

The devil is a liar…and…our struggle is not against flesh and blood.

I don’t stand for it anymore.

Know why?

Jesus’ crossed a boundary line where no one else could.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:8

Death.

Cross.

His boundary line included getting nailed to a cross and dieing for the world’s sin!

Not only did He “cross” that boundary line…He came back!

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again…                     1 Thess 4:14

Chains and bars bind and blind.

Boundary lines bring freedom.

My boundary lines are between these pages…

What hope is there if not for Jesus Christ and His cross?

If the Son sets you free you will  be free indeed! John 8:36

If you are in a relationship where you are being used and abused get out, especially if adultery, drugs, or alcohol are involved!!!  If you are the one sinning, STOP IT!  Repent and turn to the Living God!

About lifevine

Hi! My name is Amy. I am a former atheist and, for a season, practiced witchcraft. God drew me out of darkness 17 years ago and gave me the spiritual gifts of knowing and faith. He gives me daily encouragement and affirmation and I hope to share Him with you. If you have not yet met the one true God, His name is Jesus Christ, and may I be the first to introduce you to Him? He is the Restorative Savior God promised Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago (Genesis 3:15) after they had sinned in the garden, bringing separation from God because of disobedience. It is rightly reported that a little over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem He was born of a virgin, lived a blameless perfect life in and around Jerusalem, died on a cross on Golgotha for the world's sin, and 3 days later rose again. YES! ROSE AGAIN! AMAZING! Please get baptized in His name, and walk in an eternal restored fellowship with Christ. You can get to know Him by reading, marking, and inwardly digesting His Word.... His Holy Bible.
