“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17
I ran into a good and Godly friend Saturday night at a Southern Gospel concert at her church. We got talking about music and I recommended she listen to Fernando Ortega and Sons of Korah
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.. Ephesians 5:19
both of which she had not heard of before. Later this week she came to mind again, and so I sent her a link to Youtube to this particular song by Fernando Ortega…
Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pull out what was planted, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build up, a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance… Ecc 3:1-4
As I sat here at my computer listening to it to make sure it was all good I closed my eyes and immediately I had a vision of Jesus sweeping me up in His arms to dance. I tried to open my eyes after a few seconds, but the Spirit would not let me. He held me transfixed as we danced the entire song.
Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Jer 31:13
My heart swelled with freedom, joy, love, and peace.
That Jesus would dance with me.
I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful. Jer 31:4
This experience brought to mind another song.
Abba Father, Oh Lord, you are so good to me, and, to think, I do not deserve anything but your wrath and condemnation. Thank you for dancing with death and the devil on the cross, and then rising again to make a way for me back into your waiting arms to dance! You say that my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at your tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD. Thank you that during that time of singing and making music you stepped down to dance with me in your most dear sweet Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
