Evotistical

In the beginning…Genesis 1:1

My son and I are attending this wonderful Bible study workshop at our church entitled “Demolishing Strongholds” by Answers in Genesis.

During our time there yesterday my son coined a new word  – “evotistical.”  We determined that the definition would be “The attitude of a Christian  who persists in their unbelief regarding origins.”

Notice how evotistical is a combination of the words evolution, egotistical, and evil?

I abhor the words evolve, evolves, and evolution.  I used to believe in them and now I hate them.  I think those words come right from hell and smell like sulfur.

Transform, change, adapt, mutate, turn, select, grow, become, mature…YES!

Evolve…NO!

The word itself suggests that something new develops out of nothing, but  scripture is clear

There is nothing new under the sun. Can you say that anything is new? It has already been here long before us. Ecclesiastes 1:9-10

Two days ago we were attending the last class of another Bible study – The Bethel Series.  The word “evolves” was used in the lesson on sanctification.  The author claimed that “The fullness of life does not come suddenly to the believer but puke, vomit, gag ‘evolves’ gradually as time passes.”  My son and I looked at each other with raised eyebrow and shook our heads no.  We know that scripture says

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18

becoming like him…Phil 3:10

And how does that happen?

…by the washing with water through the word… Eph 5:26

Not through evolution!

The last time I checked the word evolve was not listed in scripture.  You wouldn’t know it from some of the New Age philosophies that circulate out there.  Some even from those who call themselves Christian.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Colossians 2:8

If a Christian persists in unbelief what happens? I don’t know for sure, but Romans 11 may hold the answer.

Turn on the TV, especially Nat Geo or Animal Planet, and just listen with open ears.  You will notice that there is a brain washing taking place.  It is everywhere.  Public schools, museums, media, artwork, books…everywhere.

…the devil…was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

Evolution and millions of years.  Lies!

Sin came into the world through one person, and death came through sin. So death spread to everyone, because everyone sinned.  Sin was in the world before there were any laws. But no record of sin can be kept when there are no laws.  Yet, death ruled from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin in the same way Adam did when he disobeyed. Adam is an image of the one who would come. Romans 5:12-14

According to Adam’s (and Jesus’) genealogy as recorded in Scripture the world can be no more than 6,000 years old, and because death came through Adam, evolution and millions of years are untrue.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.      2 Corinthians 10:5

Is it possible that someone wants you to believe something so ludicrous that it sounds almost true?

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  2 Cor 11:14

It all comes down to one thing – who has the authority to speak truth to this issue?  Jesus.  He is the only one who was there in the beginning.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.  John 1:1

…and Darwin didn’t die for me like Jesus did.

Brothers and sisters, I’m making known to you the Good News which I already told you, which you received, and on which your faith is based.  In addition, you are saved by this Good News if you hold on to the doctrine I taught you, unless you believed it without thinking it over.  I passed on to you the most important points of doctrine that I had received: Christ died to take away our sins as the Scriptures predicted.  He was placed in a tomb. He was brought back to life on the third day as the Scriptures predicted. 1 Cor 15:1-4

Oh Jesus, what wonder and awe we experience when we look at your created world through forgiven eyes.  Designs testify to a Designer.  Patterns testify to a Pattern Maker.  The patterns and designs in nature abound to testify to a Grand Artist.

God bless Ken Ham and Buddy Davis and Answers in Genesis and all creation ministries as they seek to dispel all of the lies that the world and even our own churches have taught and still try to teach us.  May our authority and our teaching be based on your word alone.  No other standard makes sense.  Please reveal truth to us, Lord.  In Jesus name, Amen.

About lifevine

Hi! My name is Amy. I am a former atheist and, for a season, practiced witchcraft. God drew me out of darkness 20 years ago and gave me the spiritual gifts of knowing and faith. He gives me daily encouragement and affirmation and I hope to share Him with you. If you have not yet met the one true God, His name is Jesus Christ, and may I be the first to introduce you to Him? He is the Restorative Savior God promised Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago (Genesis 3:15) after they had sinned in the garden, bringing separation from God because of disobedience. It is rightly reported that a little over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem Jesus was born of a virgin (for you), lived a blameless perfect life (for you) in and around Jerusalem, died on a cross on Golgotha for (you) the world's sin, and 3 days later rose again (for you). YES! ROSE AGAIN! AMAZING! Please get baptized in His name, and walk in an eternal restored fellowship with Christ. You can get to know Him by reading, marking, and inwardly digesting His Word.... His Holy Bible.
