Sandpaper, feelings, and balm

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?  Jer 8:22

“Feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God–
Naught else is worth believing.
Though all my heart should feel condemned
For want of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart
Whose Word cannot be broken.
I’ll trust in God’s unchanging Word
Till soul and body sever,
For, though all things shall pass away,
HIS WORD SHALL STAND FOREVER!”
Martin Luther
Yesterday was not a good day.  It was full of thorns and thistles in so many ways.  Marriage is not easy.  Budgets are not easy.  The economic times are not easy.  Mix all three together and you have a volatile mix.  Yesterday it went off.  I equate yesterday to being sandpapered from head to toe.
It was difficult to get out of bed this morning.  I just wanted to crawl back under the covers and never come out.  I still may do that.  I feel raw.  God’s word in me is the only thing unscathed.

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from wise and intelligent people and revealing them to little children.  Yes, Father, this is what pleased you.  “My Father has turned everything over to me. Only the Father knows the Son. And no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son is willing to reveal him.  “Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.  Place my yoke over your shoulders, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for yourselves because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”                    Mat 11:25-30

I think I’ll curl up with the Good Book

Jesus, when the world is abrasive as it is all the time, come and heal my wounds.  In your name, Amen

About lifevine

Hi! My name is Amy. I am a former atheist and, for a season, practiced witchcraft. God drew me out of darkness 17 years ago and gave me the spiritual gifts of knowing and faith. He gives me daily encouragement and affirmation and I hope to share Him with you. If you have not yet met the one true God, His name is Jesus Christ, and may I be the first to introduce you to Him? He is the Restorative Savior God promised Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago (Genesis 3:15) after they had sinned in the garden, bringing separation from God because of disobedience. It is rightly reported that a little over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem He was born of a virgin, lived a blameless perfect life in and around Jerusalem, died on a cross on Golgotha for the world's sin, and 3 days later rose again. YES! ROSE AGAIN! AMAZING! Please get baptized in His name, and walk in an eternal restored fellowship with Christ. You can get to know Him by reading, marking, and inwardly digesting His Word.... His Holy Bible.
