When I get caught up in the world’s
or Rick Warren’s way of thinking that I must be purpose-driven I am reminded:
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
His will is perfect and his purpose for me is simple:
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, give thanks, because it is God’s will in Christ Jesus that you do this.1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
And the gospel is always the everlasting arms underneath:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Thank you, Jesus, that I am forgiveness-led and not purpose-driven. Thank you that your perfect purpose is credited to me as righteousness through the gift of faith in me. Oh the peace!
