A facebook friend was bemoaning the fact that not only had Steve Jobs died yesterday, but that nobody was recognizing it on Facebook.
“Wow nobody’s said a word about Steve Jobs dying…shame on all of you, the creator of all your I-s*** died today, and not a word about his death! I’m Appalled!”
He wasn’t seeing any posts about it even though Steve had made major contributions to our daily life.
“haha, none of my friends seem to care I guess…I don’t use I-s***, but its weird that so many people I know do use them, and yet nobody seems to notice/care that the inventor of all of that died.”
All I could think of was how that was so like Jesus.
“I guarantee you that quite a few people on my friends list don’t know who he is…which is really sad, nobody knows or cares where everything they use/take for granted comes from….its like it just falls out of the sky right into best buy.”
Here Jesus created our very existence, and lived, died, and rose again, but you don’t see many bemoaning his death….and he died for the world! More than that! He rose again! Rose again!
Steve Jobs didn’t die for the world. He might have made life easier by his inventions…or not, but he didn’t die for anyone’s sin.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1 Cor 15:3
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if this news were passed around on facebook daily?
