Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
As I was meditating on Jesus recently I became aware of just how seemingly unattached and yet completely grounded we are when we live by faith.
Everything apart from faith is sin.
I used to picture myself walking through this world while God was holding a flashlight on the ground ahead of me. I think I’ve been wrong! If my feet are attached to this world in any way then I am not living by faith. Rather, living by faith is more like walking on Light, trusting God’s word alone.
Living by faith is more like free-floating and yet at the same time standing on the most solid and sure Rock and Foundation, Jesus Christ. There seems to be a contradiction when living by faith that seems unresolvable. And it is if one leans on their own reason and logic or their own faith for that matter.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God–Ephesians 2:8
Thank God for faith!
Faith assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see. God accepted our ancestors because of their faith. Faith convinces us that God created the world through his word. This means what can be seen was made by something that could not be seen. Hebrews 11:1-3
