I was trying to hang some clothes up today and the hard plastic hook I was hanging them on pulled off the door and hit me smack dab in the left eye. I mean right IN the eyeball. I blinked…blurry….blinked again….blurry….closed my eyes for a few seconds, opened them up….and it was a little better. Then I started to think of the ramifications, and then I started to cry because it burned.
Literally, in the blink of an eye I could have lost my sight. In the blink of an eye my life could have changed forever. Thank God it didn’t, and thank God for the promise that some day it will!!!
Brothers and sisters, this is what I mean: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. What decays cannot inherit what doesn’t decay. I’m telling you a mystery. Not all of us will die, but we will all be changed. It will happen in an instant, in a split second (in the blink of an eye) at the sound of the last trumpet. Indeed, that trumpet will sound, and then the dead will come back to life. They will be changed so that they can live forever. 1 Cor 15:50-52
Father God, Thank you for the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. In the blink of an eye we will be changed. Maranatha! Amen!
