We live 50 feet from 2 sets of VERY BUMPY railroad tracks. What’s worse is there is a huge drop off zone on one side of the tracks. The road is probably 3-5 feet lower on the west side than the east side. Thus, if you don’t slow down you are going to pay for it.
A couple of days ago I heard a car come to a screeching halt just before the tracks. They saw at the last minute the rough road ahead and were able to stop before any damage was done.
I have seen other cars careen over those tracks at high rates of speed and lose hubcaps, rip off bumpers, mufflers and tailpipes, and in at least one instance, a woman flew over them in her SUV and blew out the back window. We heard the explosion.
Not too long ago, someone ignored the warning arms and was hit and killed. I heard the crash at 4:30am. It didn’t sound like a killing crash, but it was. So sad to think that if that man would have just heeded the warning signs he would still be alive today.
Read Zephania 1:1-2:3. And just to let you know that as I started to type this verse I could hear the warning bells start to sound at the railroad tracks. Sad thing is as I look out my window, many are ignoring the warnings.
There is a spiritual message in this song if you listen for it and heed it’s warning…
Jesus, people didn’t listen to the prophets that you sent, and they didn’t listen to you either. God bless those who do listen and hear the warnings. You are the train that frees us from the prison of sin, guilt, shame, death, and the enemy of this world. I find it not quite a coincidence that the warning bells have been going off and on the entire time I have been blogging this devotion. You are precious, Lord. Amen
