Allegiance to friendship becomes idolatry when the one with whom you have allegiance to is boldly sinning and you say nothing. Beware of the feathers of the birds you flock together with. Are they tainted and corrupted feathers? Are they out of formation? Are they out of order? Are they seeking to boldly take the lead that is not theirs to take? Are the feathers that you find refuge under easily ruffled? Are they seeking to proudly display their own beauty and do they preen and strut and shake themselves in other bird’s faces to say, “LOOK! LOOK! Look at me!” ? Does that bird crow about their afflictions? Does that bird easily peck others into place? Domineering cawing birds that peck others into place and have to have the places of authority and honor on the wire are lost birds. They appear to know which way they are heading, but their direction is skewed. BEWARE of the birds with which you flock together. They may become your idol. Geese fly in humble victory formation, and help one another. When one becomes winded another takes its place and encourages and enables the others to head in the proper direction. Look for birds that are migrating in the right direction. Look for birds that with their humble honks are communicating “God’s glory” and not their own.
“How long will you love delusions and seek false Gods?”
“Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem! how I have longed to gather you under My wing as a hen gathers her chicks!”
